Dr. Arne Vainio sits at his desk in his examination room, sets fire to his computer and fires a copy of the score for his doctoral thesis. He composed the march for President Lyndon B. Johnson and presented the president with his copy and score while the Marine Band played his march on the White House lawn.

He joined Marine Air Group 32 and immediately joined the unit, serving in the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment and 3rd Marine Expeditionary Unit. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station at Camp Lejeune, N.J., and later at Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Bragg, North Carolina, during the Vietnam War.

Lake Winnebago covers an area of 215 square miles and stretches for about 30 miles from Fond du Lac to Appleton. The Fond du Lac Public Library supports a high quality of life through reading, lifelong learning and community engagement. With more than 1,500 books, a second-hand bookshop and a variety of educational programs, Fonding Du Lac offers The public library is home to the largest library in Wisconsin and one of the best in the country. With an elevator that allows entrance doors, mezzanine and disabled parking spaces - barrier-free, barrier-free and with more than 1,550 parking spaces, this gem of the community is accessible.

Since its opening on 1 September 1995, the first public park of the Fond du Lac, Lakeside Park, has attracted more than 1.5 million visitors a year. The Walleye Weekend is the biggest event of the summer season and the largest one-day fishing event in North America. The June weekend at Lakeside Park offers a variety of activities including fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and more, as well as a number of events for children.

Music lovers of all ages attend a concert series organized by the Fond du Lac County Music Festival, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. The series takes place in Buttermilk Creek Park and features regional tour attractions including local bands, local artists and local and regional bands from around the country.

This year's programme includes programmes for the audience of the Fond du Lac, and the event keeps pace with the local and regional music scene, as well as a host of other events throughout the year. The Fond du Lac Jazz Festival takes place in April at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts and is steadily growing in number and prestige. The summer band, limited to 50 players, continues the tradition of the military band and offers a summer concert series outdoors.

When the lake freezes in the middle of winter, the telltale traces of snowmobiles are everywhere, and ice fish shelters are a feature of the white landscape, especially during the disturbing season in February. The museum takes children through the history of the Fond du Lac and its history as a tourist destination. Family campers want to get a taste of what nearby Kettle Moraine State Park has to offer. In summer it is a busy place, as are the 180 slides that slide in and out of the park, but it is also a great place for family outings.
